Daisy Legba Kalawai'a linework

"She's got friends on the other side..."

Daisy Kalawai'a moved to New Orleans as a child when her mother tempestuously decided to leave Hawaii after ending a relationship with a man who was not Daisy's actual father. In fact, somewhat unbeknownst to Daisy's mother, Daisy is an illegitimate daughter of the Haitian Loa God Papa Legba, who had seduced her mother after watching her dance at the Merrie Monarch festival, and disappeared mere moments after passion's inevitable consumation.

Twenty four years later, Daisy is taking a sabbatical from a Masters Degree studying Languages (which she has had a preternatural grasp of since childhood). Blessed with good looks and an empathic temperament, Daisy finds it easy to get into anywhere she fancies and can compell even complete strangers to come to her with a simple glance.

Her father visits her occasionally. She knows who he is now, of course; after all, he bestowed upon her some of his gifts - the ability to open doors, to understand all others, to see the future and speak to the dead. And a small Pug, named Wally.

She's not sure if Wally has any special abilities. Yet.



Inspired by a character I made while playing Scion. Lots of fun cooking up the little details for this, though thanks to Hayfever ruining me, it took a lot longer to finish the linework than I'd have liked. More details to come when I get around to colouring her; some nice Loa/Biker Gang decals and a tattoo of Papa Legba's veve on her arm will be done digitally.
