This was a digital inked promotional piece done 5 years ago that, for whatever reasons I can't think ok now, never made it onto dA. I think maybe part of it was the long format didn't work very well on the site back then...? It's hard to remember. Either way, like a large ammount of work I do, it just didn't end up here. I think now's the time to unearth it. No pun intended.

The original idea was to draw a place that I felt represented me, a landscape self portrait of sorts... In retrospect it's not terribly complimentary, but I'm all about the self-deprication anyway. I'm kind of solitary, independant. No man is an island and all that, but I often feel that way. I also often feel like I'm away in the clouds, avoiding the pitfalls of everyday modern life. The flying lobsters represent my delusional side. That the house (what of it there is) is built into the rock and tree is indicative of my desire to blend into nature. The less said about the outhouse, the better I think...

Thanks! Yeah, I think I could be happy there. Floating above the clouds, maybe, so I can't see how high up it is, hehe!
