The Animist

Blinded by her helmet but deeply, spiritually in tune with her surroundings, the Animist conjours up a golem from the very rocks and earth beneath her feet. It is silicate but now imbued with a life-force, and she feels it grant her senses unlike anything provided by flora or fauna. The smoke from the sticks, made from a powder obtained by drying the skins of amphibians, sharpens these senses further still with a psychotropic edge. Although her eyes are covered; wadded with cloth beneath the heavy bronze helmet, she sees the world in pulses of gold and green energy, a form of radar x-ray; the blood and sap networks of life, the crystaline hearts of stone, the waveforms of water, air, fire. Her tail, one of many animalistic changes practised use of her power has bestowed upon her, twitches in time to the pulse of the world, and the golem lumbers forward.
