Description
Horrid little bug-girls scrub up nice when they want to.
Initially these were just drawn as an experiment to see how detailed I could draw on a miniature scale, each of the three barely makes 2" tall on paper. The idea is to start up an illuminated letter project, homaging the pre-Raphaelite and Art Nouveau movements; a little Rossetti to Rackham, Mucha to Froud. Obviously featuring faeries and other small fey.
However, I liked the experiments enough to try and do something with them rather than just relegate them to the drawer, so this is the result, flawed as it might be. Tried to go for a much subtler, watercoloured style; I'm still working on my CG technique overall so this was a nice little break.

I'm amazed how well the lines on these 3 came out considering how small the sketches are, lovely job, really enjoying the watercolour effect
